The LSU Tigers are entering their final week of the regular season, and they’ll be taking on an SEC West foe in Texas A&M.
The Tigers will be looking to have Brian Kelly’s second season as head coach end on a high note with a win against an Aggies team that recently fired head coach Jimbo Fisher, and the oddsmakers like the Tigers chances.
The early betting line at Caesars Sportsbook as the Tigers favored by 10.5 points over the Aggies, which marks the fourth time this year that the Tigers have opened as double-digit favorites against an SEC opponent.
The main storyline surrounding this contest though is Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels being the Heisman Trophy favorite, as Daniels is now the overall to win the award (-125) at Caesars.
Another huge statistical outing from Daniels and a Tigers victory could be enough for him to win the Heisman even though the other candidates Bo Nix and Michael Penix will have an extra chance to beef up their resume in the Pac 12 Championship Game.
The Tigers fell short against the Aggies in last season’s regular season finale, which could’ve had to do with the fact that the Tigers had already clinched their spot in the SEC Championship Game.
Neither team has a shot at the conference title with Alabama having already clinched the SEC West, but the winner would position themselves for a better bowl game with the Tigers looking to improve to 9-3 and the Aggies aiming for 8-4.
The recent history in this series has favored the Tigers, as they had covered the spread nine straight times against the Aggies prior to last season and won outright in seven of those contests.
Kickoff for this SEC West battle is set for Saturday, Nov. 25 at Tiger Stadium at 11 a.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN.
