The 2023/24 Premier League season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in the last several years. The January transfer window has slammed shut and the English top flight has seen about two-thirds of its campaign concluded. Thus, fans now have an idea who the serious contenders are headed down the home stretch.

The three-time reigning champion, Manchester City, is rather unsurprisingly in the thick of the title race once again. Pep Guardiola's squad has overcome serious injuries to two of its most important players, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, to go 15 games unbeaten in all competitions.

The Citizens sit third with a game in hand, just four points behind the league leader, Liverpool. It's a familiar position for both teams as they've finished first and second in the English top flight in three of the last five seasons. However, seeing as Man City has come out on top five times since 2017/18, Guardiola's team remains the betting favorite with a few months to go.

FanDuel Sportsbook lists the Citizens as -120 favorites to lift their sixth Premier League trophy in seven years. The Reds, meanwhile, are +175 to send manager Jurgen Klopp off into the sunset with his second English top flight triumph.

Last year's biggest title challenger, Arsenal, is +430 as the Gunners sit two points off Liverpool with 13 games to play. Mikel Arteta's club hasn't lifted the league title since the invincible 2003/04 season.

The only other teams on the oddsboard are Aston Villa (80/1), Tottenham (120/1) — who currently sit fourth and fifth — even though neither has won England's first division in over 40 years. Manchester United (190/1) and Chelsea (360/1) are close to dropping off the board altogether as their struggles this season continue to weigh them down.

If it's value you're after, Arsenal (+430) could be a sneaky solid play. The injury bug has bitten Liverpool and some are making a big deal of Man City's recent poor result against Chelsea. If you're not jumping on the Citizens at a pretty good price (-120), consider taking a flyer on the Gunners.
