State extends grant program for small research businesses

Louisiana Economic Development has received a second round of federal funding for a program that encourages research-focused startups to keep their businesses rooted in the state.

The Louisiana Innovation Retention Grant program offers awards of up to $100,000 for businesses that have received federal Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer grants.

To be eligible, an applicant must be a for-profit, privately owned business based in Louisiana that received federal notice of a Phase I or Phase II SBIR/STTR award after June 15, 2022.

Roundtables taking business applications

Applications are now open for Louisiana Economic Development's Small and Emerging Business Development Roundtables program.

The programs begin in July and August and bring together business leaders for a yearlong collaborative learning and problem-solving experience.

Business owners meet 10 times throughout the year to share business challenges and discover solutions. Louisiana companies that have been certified by LED's SEBD program can apply.

Bernhard officials to address association luncheon

R. Foster Duncan, operating partner of Bernhard Capital Partners, and Jonathan de Lauréal, managing director of Bernhard Capital Partners, will be the guest speakers at the Association of Corporate Growth's June luncheon.

The luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Windsor Court, 300 Gravier St., in New Orleans.
