The four disturbances weather forecasters are tracking in the Atlantic Ocean have a low probability of developing into tropical depressions within the week, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
Only one of the waves is near the Gulf of Mexico and does not currently pose a threat to southeastern Louisiana. Forecasters said Wednesday at 7 p.m. that that system is moving westward quickly at 20 mph and has a 30% chance of further developing over the next week.?
Another low-pressure area was located east of North Carolina and had a lesser chance of development, at 20%, within the next week.?
Two tropical systems off the coast of Africa are also in the Atlantic, forecasters say.?
One has brought thunderstorms to the Lesser Antilles but is unlikely to develop further, with a 10% chance of developing within two days and the next week. The second wave in the eastern Atlantic could slowly develop, with a 20% chance of becoming a tropical depression within the week.?
