Dan Mills, CEO of the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans, was recently elected as a 2025 regional director of the National Association of Home Builders' Executive Officers Council.

Mills will represent a region that includes Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas.

Gabriela González, Boyd Professor of Physics at the LSU Department of Physics & Astronomy, has been elected vice president of the American Physical Society.

González’s vice presidential term will begin in January; she will become APS president-elect in 2026 and APS president in 2027.

González was elected an APS Fellow in 2007.

Scott Ginn has joined the board of directors for the parent company of Investar Bank.

Ginn is the chief operating officer and chief financial officer for Amedisys. He has led the financial teams at the Baton Rouge-based home health and hospice company since 2007. Before that, the was a director at the accounting firm formerly known as Postlethwaite & Netterville.

He earned a bachelor's in accounting from LSU.
