Alvin Kamara made headlines over the weekend when his Belle Chasse mansion hit the market for $2.75 million, signaling the Saints star's launch into New Orleans real estate and land development.
Built in 2022, Kamara's sprawling estate is nearly 7,000 square feet and sits on a corner lot in a gated community, according to?the Zillow listing. Kamara's brother, real estate broker Allen Kamara, is the listing agent.
The home has a built-in sound system, outdoor entertainment area, fire pits, a pool, a jacuzzi, a fenced in backyard and an upper-level home theater and spa.?
One of the most unique features of Kamara's Belle Chasse home is a pair of custom built 12-foot wine storage units.
Inside, the open concept floor plan is highlighted with tall ceilings, white walls with contemporary black finishes and white oak flooring. Alvin's favorite room in the house is the primary closet, equipped with custom cabinetry and plenty of room for shoes and sneakers, Allen Kamara said Tuesday.
The "exceptional estate offers an unparalleled lifestyle" in Plaquemines Parish, the listing says.?
'Alvin is really into real estate'?
When word got out that Alvin Kamara's house was listed, it left fans wondering if it was related to the famed running back and the Saints struggling to come to a new contract agreement.
He dispelled those rumors and eased the minds of the Who Dat nation on Monday, explaining he thought selling his five-bedroom, nine-bathroom home was a smart business decision.?
"Alvin is really into real estate, not just with this home but in general," Allen Kamara said Tuesday.
Now, Alvin and Allen are partnering with Rennard Meade, owner of Craftman Builders, as they plan new development projects across the New Orleans metro. Meade and his team are behind the construction of Alvin's Belle Chasse mansion.
The plan includes "building specialty, custom homes all over New Orleans and purchasing land as well," Allen Kamara said.
Alvin Kamara has several projects in the works, Allen said, including developing land he owns in Belle Chasse.
He also owns land in the Hollygrove-Dixon area and "wants to be true to the people there, so he's been taking his time and being strategic about how he develops that," Allen said.?
Alvin is most excited about a tackling a commercial project in the French Quarter, but Allen did not elaborate, only saying the Saints star "has been sitting on" the idea for a while.?
"We want to make sure that we can do more for the community and do more for New Orleans ... and expand his entrepreneurial enterprise," Allen said.?
Alvin Kamara's new roommate
Alvin Kamara now has a new roommate as he waits for his house to sell: Louisiana auto dealership mogul Matt Bowers.
He confirmed Monday he talked to Bowers about his idea to sell his home before putting it on the market, and Bowers agreed to let him move in for a while until the Saints star can figure out his next steps.
"So I think it was a good financial decision to list my house," Alvin said.
Alvin Kamara isn't the only famous New Orleanian selling a lavish mansion. The Ray Brandt estate in Metairie, that features two mansions, recently sold for around $3 million.
