Lana Del Rey has finally spoken out.
In a vague comment on social media over the weekend, the famous singer-songwriter addressed her rumored romantic relationship with?Louisiana swamp tour guide Jeremy Dufrene after candid photos of the two together late last month sparked speculation among eagle-eyed fans.
"No," was all Del Rey said in response to an Instagram post claiming that Dufrene is her "new man."?
"According to Pop Crave, it looks like Jeremey, Lana's new beau, is an alligator tour guide... who also recently separated from his wife," the entertainment and celebrity gossip Instagram account wrote in its original post over the weekend.?
The post also included a screenshot of tweets posted to X by a social media user last week claiming to be Dufrene's daughter. The social media user alleged that she was in the dark about her father's relationship with the famous singer-song writer.
"Also, that's not his daughter on Twitter," Del Rey said in another separate comment.?
While it's unclear exactly what portion of the post Del Rey was responding negatively to, many tabloids and celebrity news social media accounts considered the comment to be a denial of the relationship.?
How did the dating rumors start?
Rumors about the relationship between Del Rey and Dufrene started circulating after photographs were taken of the pair in London.
They were first seen holding hands before Del Rey headlined at the 2024 Reading & Leeds Festival in England, and British tabloid Daily Mail then published snapshots of them sitting together at a local pub.
Del Rey and Dufrene met each other long before the dating speculations started. In March of 2019, the singer posted a photo of her and a few friends on an airboat with Dufrene in Louisiana. The next day, he posted a photo of him and Del Rey smiling while standing next to marshland.
Who is Jeremy Dufrene?
Dufrene, a 49-year-old Louisiana native, is a boat captain at Airboat Tours by Arthur Matherne in the small town of Des Allemands.
Before becoming a boat captain, Dufrene worked in a chemical plant seven days a week and shrimped on his off days, according to the tour company's website. After earning his captain's license, he never considered returning to the plant again.
The boat captain has had other run-ins with A-list celebrities during his time at the touring facility, including actors Glen Powell and Emma Roberts.
