Longue Vue plans Merry Market
It's a double bonus at Longue Vue House and Gardens on Sunday, Dec. 1: The historic home hosts its annual Merry Market from noon to 4 p.m., and the gardens are open to Louisiana residents free of charge.
The market includes local vendors with unique gifts for the holidays.
Walgreens Pharmacy will also be administering vaccinations for flu, RSV, Prevnar 20 and Hepatitis A/B.

Northshore builders sponsor two-day tour
"Homes for the Holidays" is the banner for the Northshore Home Builders Association tour of 26 newly constructed homes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7-8.
The homes, by 12 builders, are located in Covington, Madisonville, Slidell and Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Two of the featured developments will be Spring Haven Subdivision in Madisonville and Robindale Subdivision in Covington.

History and Holly Home Tour Dec. 8
Take in the history and holiday warmth of the downtown Covington area during the annual Covington Heritage Foundation tour.
Decorated for the season, the tour features several spots in the historic area, plus a market and music and dance performances.

Community planning meeting for City Park
A chance to help design a long-term blueprint for the future of City Park will be offered at an upcoming meeting open to residents of all ages in the greater New Orleans area.
Community Engagement Meeting A, one of four upcoming interactive planning sessions, will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 11 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1200 Allen Toussaint Blvd. Dinner and refreshments will be provided.
City Park officials and the design and engagement teams will offer updates on the process and invite participation in table-top activities to chart intentions for the park's master plan. How to address those intentions will be part of the brainstorming process.

A variety of cleanup days and initiatives are on tap at City Park to improve and maintain the extensive urban green space. Those coming up during the week of?Nov. 30?include:
- Litter Abatement Campaign:?9 a.m. Tuesday, Volunteer Center, 1031 Harrison Ave.
- Graffiti?Cleanup Krewe:?10 a.m. Thursday. Volunteers paint over graffiti and clear debris.
- Big Lake Native Plant Trail Restoration Project:?9 a.m. Friday. Horticulture activities include weeding, removal of plant debris, mulching, shoveling and other tasks to maintain native plant beds. Meet at the Big Lake Native Trail near 7 Friedrichs Ave.
